A Welcome Back!

BLS welcomes back Jane Brown as Membership Secretary

Very unfortunately circumstances have prevented Elaine Hillson from continuing in the role of Society Secretary and the work has now been split with Jane Brown taking on the role of Membership Secretary while our Vice Chairman, Liz Butler will become the main point of contact for general enquiries.

Most of the Society will remember Jane who acted as Secretary for our old organisation the British Llama and Alpaca Association and indeed it was Jane that set up much of the current administrative system so it really is “Welcome back Jane!” A lady of many talents Jane is also Secretary of our sister organisation British Camelids Ltd so she is going to be kept pretty busy.

So a big thank you to Jane and Liz for taking on these roles and a big thank you also for Elaine in giving the work a good try!

The New Board

New British Llama Society Board

Following the recent AGM the BLS Board has been reconstituted. Unfortunately, circumstances have prevented 2 of the 3 new Directors, Brenda Birmingham and Martin Hillson, voted in at the AGM taking up their positions leaving a rather depleted Board. However Brenda is going to continue as the editor of Llama Llink while Martin will do what he can to help with PR and the website.

The Board now consists of:

Tim Crowfoot - Chairman and Treasurer

Liz Butler - Vice Chairman and Health and Welfare

Ordell Safran – Director

Gwynneth Hogger – Director

Ruth Hills – Director

Gareth Chamberlain – Director

Ruth Hills is also the minute Secretary while Gwynneth Hogger takes care of the distribution of Llama Llink and all other communications with members.

Although not Directors the Board is also ably supported by

Jane Brown the new Membership Secretary

Brenda Birmingham as the Editor of Llama Llink

Vivienne Ives who is our Registrar and Webmaster, ably assisted by her son

Russell Ives as webdesigner.

The Board would welcome other volunteers to become Directors or to take on the post of Treasurer.

Contact details for all of the above are on the
contacts page or on the rear cover of Llama Llink
