Pam, with her husband Gerald, were amongst the founder members of the British Llama and Alpaca Association. Together with her business partner, Brenda, they have bred many fine llamas and their blood line is now widespread in the UK and indeed overseas since Pam had a thriving export business for some time. In more recent years Pam and Brenda have concentrated on the home market, exhibiting llamas at many shows and winning many awards. Pam has held many positions on the Board but now deserves a good rest. She is also a well respected show judge. Ill health has forced Pam and Brenda to sell much of their herd but Pam has kept a few llamas to keep her amused in their retirement including her famous stud llama Dill!
Rodney and Joan Newth and Pam Walker and Brenda Wickenden were all awarded Honorary Life Membership at the recent BLS AGM.
Rodney and Joan have been members of the British Llama and Alpaca association and BLS for many many years. Rodney has held many positions in the Societies including Chairman, Treasurer and Registrar and it is in this latter role that Rodney and Joan have made the greatest contribution.
Vice Chairman, Liz Butler presenting the certificate to Pam (Brenda unfortunately could not attend).
