Whether you are an owner, breeder or just an enthusiast there are many reasons to join BLS   

Your subscription helps promote and expand overall knowledge and understanding. By joining the BLS you are helping us in our work to increase awareness and understanding of what is still a rare breed in the UK with very little literature available and much more to be learned.

Information: Guidelines and information sheets issued to all new members containing husbandry, welfare and health information. 

Ongoing member information and support: Access to our website Members' Room to follow in due course.

Social Gatherings: Regional social activities, llama treks etc. Meeting members and swapping experiences is a valuable way to learn. Many lasting friendships are made with those sharing a mutual interest in these fascinating animals.     

Representation of the interests of llamas and their owners at national and international level, promoting llamas to the public in all their varied uses.

Education, Health & Welfare: Husbandry and training workshops, seminars and conference’s with international speakers. 

Website and newsletters: Helpful articles and updates, photos, and member communication. 

Shows: Society Shows and attendance at many agricultural events. 

Registration: Comprehensive Registry. Access to our national database for recording details and identification. 

Veterinary input: BLS  liaises with the British Veterinary Camelid Society whose meetings are an important source of information for our members.

Charitable Donations: 10% of membership dues and net registration income goes to British Camelids Ltd, a registered charity specialising in camelid health, welfare and educational matters.
